Virtual ECU Toolkit Use Case

The Virtual ECU Toolkit enables virtual ECUs to participate in real-time HIL systems. This capability allows realistic vehicle-level validation even when physical ECUs are unavailable.

The Virtual ECU Toolkit integrates Level 3 vECUs compiled as FMUs and executes them on the Real-Time target.

Its main purpose is not to test the virtual ECU itself but to support testing an ECU that depends on other nodes to function properly. When a Level 3 vECU represents those nodes, it simplifies the HIL setup by reducing the complexity of integrating models and the associated restbus simulation into the configuration.
