SIL and Cloud Connectivity to HIL

With the continuous improvement to the fidelity of simulation environments and the maturity of connected cloud based technologies there is an increasing trend for validation testing to be started in fully virtual environments. For test teams this often means building complex infrastructure such as automation frameworks and version control that is compatible with the virtual environment. When moving from the SIL to HIL environments significant efficiencies can be gained by re-using the same infrastructure, models, and workflows from the SIL to the HIL environments. NI’s open, API driven, aims to maximize the re-use by giving users the flexibility to build and manage their test workflows using their preferred toolchains, while integrating seamlessly.

An important consideration when working between cloud platforms and HIL systems is the transition between non-real-time and real-time platforms, and the impact these changes may test programs.
